" Napoleon Solo " Wins the 151St Preakness Stakes Outlasting " Taj Mahal" with dominant Finish on the Final Stretch at Laurel Park in Maryland...!

LAUREL PARK, MARYLAND (SMIG-GLOBAL-SPORTS MAY 16-17, 2026)-The middle jewel of the Triple Crown " 151St Preakness" concluded with a new winner

"Napoleon Solo" , a  7-1, odds horse, ridden by Paco Lopez and trained by Chad Summers outlasting favorite " Taj Mahal" in the final stretch at Laurel Park, Maryland.

With the historic win, "Napoleon Solo" claimed the winner 1st prize of $1.2 Million, "Iron Honor" (8-1, odds) $400,000, 5-1, odds "Chip Honcho"(5-1, odds) $220,000 &  "Ocelli" (6-1, odds) $120,000 for 4th place.

In addition to winning the purse of $1.2 Million, Jockey Paco Lopez, trainer Chad Summers and owner Al Gold reached a milestone in the horse racing sport by claiming their first Preakness trophy and Triple crown race of their careers.

 

" Napoleon Solo " took second place from the start out of the 14-horse race, and kept the pace from outside behind favorite 5-1, odds " Taj Mahal" for first 3/4 mile race.

Jockey Paco Lopez & " Napoleon Solo", accelerated and took the lead over "Taj Mahal" on top of  final 1/4 stretch to outrun " Iron Honor" and " Chip Honcho" who were approaching in a thunder speed to win the Preakness by a half of length ahead of " Iron Honor" while crossing the finish line at 1:58.69 for 1 3/16 mile race.
