ZURICH, SWITZERLAND(SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS DEC.02-07, 2025)-The much anticipated and historic 48-team Final Draw for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 in three nations USA, Mexico & Canada, will take place on Friday Dec. 05, 2025 at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in the nation capital Washington DC.
With 42-nation qualified, 6-spot waiting to be filled for this global-sporting Football (Soccer/Futbol) event & 2 million tickets already sold in advance, the global Football/Soccer audience will be glue to their TV, Cell Phones, Laptops or Computers on Friday Dec. 05, @ 12:00pm ET & Saturday Dec, 06, @ 12:00pm ET, for a least 2-hour to find-out who their countries if they are one of the qualifiers will face in the historic new edition FIFA 48-team at FIFA World Cup 2026.
In addition to the final draw, coaches, legend players, some entertainment celebrities and confederation officials will be in attendance at this historic 48-team final draw.
The new 48-team edition draw is set-up with 12-nation in 4-pots, and final draw will determine the official 12 group of 4-nation that will compete for the Trophy in the FIFA World Cup 2026/ USA/Canada & Mexico.
Pot 1: Canada, Mexico, USA, Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany
Pot 2: Croatia, Morocco, Colombia, Uruguay, Switzerland, Japan, Senegal, IR Iran, Korea Republic, Ecuador, Austria, Australia
Pot 3: Norway, Panama, Egypt, Algeria, Scotland, Paraguay, Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire, Uzbekistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa
Pot 4: Jordan, Cabo Verde, Ghana, Curaçao, Haiti, New Zealand, European Play-Off A, B, C and D, FIFA Play-Off Tournament 1 and 2.
The Play-Off Tournament for FIFA World Cup 2026, will be played in single-leg knockout matches, in Mexico as the six competing nations: Bolivia (BOL), Congo DR(COD), Jamaica (JAM), Iraq(IRQ), Suriname (SUR), & New Caledonia( NCL) will look to secure two spots of the final 6-places at the first-ever 48 team FIFA World Cup.
Guadalajara Stadium and Monterrey Stadium will play host to two matches each during the tournament, with Guadalajara hosting play-off featuring New Caledonia, Jamaica and Congo DR and Monterrey hosting play-off involving Bolivia, Suriname and Iraq. The semi-final matches in both cities will be played on Thursday 26 March while the finals will be played on Tuesday 31 March.

Sixteen European ( UEFA) nations will compete in March for 4-spot during a Playoff knock-out schedule that will include : Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czechia, Denmark, Italy, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, North Macedonia, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Türkiye, Ukraine and Wales.
