US dominated the game stats with continuous counter attacks and solid defense that resulted in two goals in the first half, enough to secure the victory a d advance to the knockout stage rounds.

The Stars and Stripes score first within the first 10' of the game. Defender Antonee Robinson sent a long pass through the left side field corner to striker Folarin Balogun, who in a breakaway inside the box crossed the ball intended to forward Ricardo Pepsi deflecting off Australia's Cameron Burgess in back of the net for Own Goal to put the US in front 1-0, at 11' mark.

With 2' left in the game, defender Antonee Robinson send an indirect kick to Sergino Dest who was standing on top of the 18', and shot a right-footed misil towards goal deflecting off Australia' s Harry Souttar and intercepted by Alex Freeman who near the mouth of the goal and score with a header to seal the 2-0, win for The Stars and Stripes over Australia.
