NEW YORK, NY(SMI-GLOBAL-ENTERTAINMENT-AUGUST 11-14, 2026)- US film director Michael Russell Gunn who made his directorial feature film debut with US historical political drama;" The Brink of War" attended the special screening and discussion alongside lead cast Jeff Daniels and Jared Harris, prior to its US premiere release at Paley's Museum in NYC.

The event took place on Tue. August 11, as part of the PaleyImpact program series, moderated by CBS Anchor " Vladimir Duthiers with crew and main cast participating in the discussion prior its US premiere release on August 14, in theaters across US nationwide.

The plot of "The Brink of War"is about a historical meeting between two powerful leaders; former US President Ronald Reagan and Soviet Union (Russia) President Mikhail Gorbachev who met at The Reyhjavik Summit, in Reyhjavik, Iceland,  during the " Cold War" 40-years ago (1986), to discuss nuclear arsenal disarmament, and where every spoken word will set the tone of  peace in the world or the brink of destruction.

The Brink of War has received positive and mixed reviews since it premiered on Friday August 14, 2026, for all audiences for its historic and political significance, while finding the film educational, intriguing and engaging.

​​​​Michael Russell Gunn is not new in the political and presidential drama-thriller genre, since he's also known as a producer for the "Designated Survivor" ABC/Netflix Tv series with lead cast Kiefer Sutherland (ABC/Netflix) in 2016-2017, Showtime " Billions" in 2019, and his latest Netflix's mini series "Thai Cave Rescue" as Executive Producer in 2022.

Jeff Daniels, a US actor and lead cast who plays former US President Ronald Reagan in the film, has surprised the film industry and its critics during the last few years for his transformation and transition in playing more serious roles that fit him perfectly, elevating his status as leading actor with key roles in: Hulu's Mini-Series " The Looming Tower ", Showtime's Political drama series " The Comey Rule"  and latest lead role as a presidential cast in the film  "Brink of War".

 Jared Harris is a British actor known for his versatile roles in playing historical characters and sophisticated rogue villains like key roles in

" The Crown "  "Chernobyl" "Allied", "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" and " The Brink of War".
