NEW YORK, NY(SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS-APRIL-01-03, 2026)-The field of 48-nations qualified for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026, have been confirmed with Sweden, Turkiye, Bosnia And Herzegovina, Czechia Republic, Iraq, and DR Congo claiming the last six spot for the historic 48-team to take place this summer from June 11-July 19, in USA, Mexico & Canada.

 

UEFA 16-Nation competed for 4-spot with FIFA #48, Sweden Advancing to its 13th World Cup tournament after defeating Poland 3-2, in the final of Path/Group B, joining Netherlands, Japan, and Tunisia in Group F.​

Sweden will open against Tunisia on June 14, at Estadio BBVA Mexico. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FIFA #22, Turkiye defeated Kosovo 1-0, in the final Path/Group C, advance to its third World Cup tournament and join USA, Australia, and Paraguay in Group D.Turkiye will open against Australia on June 14, 2026 at BC Place Vancouver, Canada.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FIFA#65, Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Italy (1-1, 4-1) in penalty kicks, advances to its 2nd FIFA World Cup tournament in the country sport history, and join host Canada, Switzerland and Qatar in Group B.Bosnia and Herzegovina will open against the host Canada on June 12, 2026 at BMO Field Toronto, Canada. ​​

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FIFA #41, Czech Republic defeated Denmark 3-1 (2-2) in penalty kicks qualifying to its second world cup in the history of the country and nine as formerly known " Czechoslovakia".Czechia joins host Mexico, South Korea & South Africa in Group A.

In the Intercontinental FIFA Play-Off qualifiers, 6-teams competed for 2-spot with FIFA#46, DR Congo (The Democratic Republic of Congo/African nation) qualifying after defeating Jamaica 1-0, in extra-time to its 2nd World Cup since 1974 when competed as formerly known as Zaire. DR Congo made history for the African Continent who became the 10th nation that will compete in the newest extended 48-team World Cup tournament.

DR Congo will join Portugal, Uzbekistan Y Colombia en grupo K. DR Congo will debut its first game against Portugal on June 17, 2026 at NRG Stadium in Houston. 

 

 

 

 

 

FIFA #57, Iraq became the last country #48 to secure a spot for the upcoming World Cup 2026, its second world cup participation after defeating Bolivia 2-1, in the Intercontinental play-off game joining France, Norway, and Senegal (Africa) in Group I.  

Iraq will make its debut against Norway on June 16, 2026 at Gillette Stadium Foxborough in Massachusetts.
