DALLAS, TEXAS (SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS-JUNE 11-JULY 19, 2026)-World 31,  NORWAY (VEFA/EURO) defeated World #33 IVORY COAST (AFRICA) 2-1, in the knock-out round 32, with striker Erling Haaland scoring his fifth goal int the global tournament, advances to the round of 16, for the first time in its history competing in World Cup competition at Dallas, Texas.

Both teams fought back and forth for the first 30, of the first half without any major danger at either goal.

During it's first major counter attack through the middle, Martin Odegaard passed the ball to Amad Diallo who was standing barely outside the 18', and from inside the box curled a right footed shot to the upper right goal post corner in back of the net to put "The Vikings" 1-0, at 39' mark.

After both teams interchanged counter-attacks through the first 25' in the second half, Ivory Coast kept the pressure and found the equalizer at 74; through Amad Diallo.

During an offensive attack through the right side field, Diallo passed the ball to Nicolas Pepe who was standing barely outside the 18' back to Diallo inside the box, who score between 3-detenders with a left footed to the far left goalpost in back of the net to level the game 1-1, at 74' Mark.

With 5' left in the game, " The Vikings " through a major counter-attack through the right side field Oscar Bobb squeezed a rolling pass between 2-defenders inside box to Patrick Berg, who cross it to Erling Haaland and score with tapped in back of the net for his 5th goal in the World Cup and seal the 2-1, victory for Norway.
