NEW YORK, NY(SMI-GLOBAL-ENTERTAINMENT AUGUST 14-SEPTEMBER 07, 2025)-CBS & MTV announced Today, that US Hip-Hop Icon, VMA's winner and 2021 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Inductee " LL Cool J " will host the 2025 MTV "VMAs" Awards Live on Sept. 07, at 8PM/5PT on CBS Tv Network, simulcast on MTV & streaming on Paramount + in the US from the UBS Arena in New York.

Rapper LL Cool J whose real name is James Smith and known as one of the pioneers of the Hip-Hop movement during the mid-80's will host the 2025 VMAs awards ceremony solo for the first-time since he co-hosted with Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow in 2022.

Smith won his first VMA's Moon Person award in 1991 in the category for "Best Rap" and made history when he became the first Rapper to be honored with the Video Vanguard Award in 1997.

In addition to hosting the 2025 VMAs awards, LL Cool J is also a nominee with the single “Murdergram Deaux” (ft. Eminem) from his critical acclaimed 2024 album "The Force" featuring Eminem in the category for Best Hip-Hop.

The “VMAs” is an annual Video Music Awards introduced by the MTV Cable channel in 1984, honoring the best music videos and songs of the year for the past 4-decade, with historic performances by new emerging artist as well global-stars of their era.

Since its insertion, The "VMAs" has become an anthem of the pop culture and the most desire music awards for the Teens and 20+ audience around the world.
