Canada kept the pressure, and during a final counter attack in stoppage time, midfielder Jacob Shaffelburg through the right side corner sent a center pass inside the box with South Africa's Ime Okon clearing the ball with a header intercepted by Stephen Eusquono who score with a rightfooted missile to the far near left goalpost in back of the net at 90+2, to seal the historic 1-0, victory for Canada over South Africa.

With the historic win, Canada advance to the round of 16, to face

World#6, Morocco who stunned Netherlands 3-2, in penalty kicks in the other knockout game.
