ATLANTA, GEORGIA(SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS-JUNE 14-JULY 13, 2025)-Top-ranked German Club "Borussia Dortmund" defeated C.F. Monterrey (Mexico) 2-1, in the knock-out stage(Round of 16) with striker Serhou Guirassy scoring two-goals within 10' apart in the first half, advance to quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

With the 2-1, victory, Borussia Dortmund advance to the quarterfinals to face Top-ranked La Liga " Real Madrid" from Spain on Saturday July 05, 2025 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

Borussia Dortmund, the 2nd most acclaimed German Football(Soccer) club from the German Bundesliga were outperformed in the game-stats by Monterrey (Mexico), but BVB scored the two goals that needed to secure the victory.

The Germans on its first major counter-attack through the left-side field, defender Ramy Bensebaini passed the ball to striker Serhou Guirassy just outside the penalty box who played to Karim Adeyemi back to Guirassy inside the 18, and scored with a rolling right-footed near the left-goal post into back of the net for 1-0, Dortmund over Monterrey at 14' mark.

Ten minute later, Dortmund kept the pressure and on its second major counter-attack striker Serhou Guirassy scored his second goal of the game to increase the lead of 2-0, for the Black and Yellow at 24' mark.

The goal-play was originated when defender Julian Ryerson(Norway) sent a long pass from downfield to forward Karim Adeyemi who on a breakaway ran inside the 18' and gave it to Guirassy who scored with a right-footed to the far goal-post to make it 2-0, for BVB.

Striker Serhoi Guirassy almost scored a Hat-trick in two-separate counter-attacks,
the first one through the left-side field, midfielder J. Bellingham crossed a rolling pass to Guirassy inside the 18' and shot a right-footed hitting wide off the right-goalpost at 31', and the second through the right-side field midfielder Pascal Grob
crossed it to Guirassy who kicked a right-footed but it was saved by goalkeeper E. Andrada with his right foot back onto the field for a sensational save at 34'. 

Monterrey cut the deficit at the start of the second half with counter-attack through the left-side field, midfielder Jesus Corona centered a pass inside the 18' finding Erik Aguirre who headed it to striker German Berterame  and scored with a header to cut the deficit at 48' mark and the final score of 2-1,  in favor of Borussia Dortmund over Monterrey. 


With the 2-1, victory, BVB advance to the quarterfinals to face Real Madrid who beat Juventus 1-0, in another round of 16, knock-out game on Saturday July 05, 2025
at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford NJ.
